Important Info & Dates for the 2017 Fall Sports Season

PERMISSION FORMS – these forms must be filled out, signed and brought to the first practice in order for the student to participate.  Forms are available in the KMS Reception Office or online at www.SAU9.org. Click on “Athletics” then on the “Kennett Middle School” tab. Forms can be dropped off at KMS prior to practices, faxed, mailed or brought in the first day of practice.

A PHYSICAL  - a valid proof of physical within 2 years is required in order to participate in  KMS athletics.  If your child does not have a current physical, he/she cannot participate. Please be sure make an appointment with your child’s doctor as soon as possible to avoid delay. Should a child’s physical expire mid-season, the student will need to provide an updated physical in order to continue the remainder of the season, and or to be eligible to participate in a winter or spring sport. For 8th graders: Please make sure we have up-to-date physicals on file with the nurse’s office. A sport physical form in available online at www.sau9.org under the “Athletics” tab.
ImPACT TESTING – This cognitive assessment test is required for all incoming 7th graders and untested 8th graders wishing to participate in a fall sport and will be good for 2 years (unless a head injury occurs).  If your child was tested last year as a 7th grader, they do not need to retake the test for this year. An ImPACT test must be done BEFORE a student can participate.  There is room for 40 students in each wave of testing; if the first session fills ups, a second wave of testing will take place after approximately an hour later.
