Introductory Spanish for Travel

Students will learn cultural information pertinent to traveling to Spanish speaking countries, as well as important basic phrases to help get around, introduce themselves, get to know people and talk about their families, ask for directions, take taxis, order food, communicate at hotels, etc.

Meets Thursdays    March, April and May     5:30 - 6:45 p.m. 
                                        (no classes week of April 22nd)

Conversational Spanish    
Jennifer McHone Villalobos

This class will allow students with previous Spanish speaking experience to converse 100% in the target language. Discussion topics will involve Spanish speaking cultures and be guided by class interest, including such topics as reading short stories, exploring current events, learning about music and dance, cultures and history. Grammar and vocabulary taught will reinforce student needs.

Meets Thursdays    March, April and May    7:00 - 8:15 p.m.  
                                           (no classes week of April 22nd)

Introduction to Russian
We will become familiar with this wonderfully phonetic alphabet, basic words and conversational phrases with class activities. While gaining comfort with the language, we will also seek a glimpse into the cultural context by exploring some key historic events through comparative timelines with other perhaps more familiar “western” civilizations.

Meets Wednesdays  April 3, 10, and 17; May 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29        6:30-8:30
