Welcome to 21st Century Skills!

I believe twenty-first century skills have two fundamental components:

skills and tools.  The skills needed for success in the 21st Century are learning and innovation skills: creativity, innovation, critical thinking, problem solving, communication and collaboration.   In order for students to effectively use and apply these skills requires a strong foundation in the four elements of literacy: speaking, listening, reading, and writing.

The tools needed for success in the 21st Century are technology foundations in hardware, software application, networks, along with other elements to develop fluency in digital technology.

The overarching outcome for this course will be to provide students with the digital know-how to utilize Web 2.0 tools within core curricular classes to establish deeper and more authentic learning experiences.
