Achieving Success Through Movement
Hello my name is Dale Nims. I am the Physical Education teacher at Belmont Elementary School. I have been teaching in the Shaker Regional School District since 1979. Prior to that I taught for one year in the Newfound Area School District. Throughout the years I have coached basketball, softball, track and field, and golf at the elementary, middle and high school levels.
I also teach Health Education here at BES. This has been an enlightening experience for me. I have really enjoyed spending time in the classroom with the children as well as the gym. I see them in a different environment, which helps me understand and relate to them on an individual basis.
Having grown up with four brothers I was always involved in games and sports as a child. I knew at a very young age I would become a physical educator with the hope of installing my love for sports and games to children. By teaching physical education and health I am able to stress the importance of a healthy and active lifestyle to all students of BES.
I graduated from Laconia High School, in Laconia, New Hampshire. During my high school years I was very active in field hockey, basketball, skiing, and softball. After high school graduation I earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Health and Physical Education from the University of New Hampshire.
My summers are spent playing competitive golf throughout the state of New Hampshire and working at Lochmere Country Club. My favorite pastime, however, is spending time with my family.
