Week of 9/7/15 Tech Tips and Tidbits

iPad Update: Student iPads are almost ready! Apps have been assigned to existing iPads and labeling is finished for almost all students. The next step is to set up iPads for students who enrolled at BMS in late August. I will be working on this process this week as well as assigning more apps to all students. I'll also begin the process of setting up teacher iPads this week. Stay tuned for more information!

Technology Expectations: Before students begin using their iPads, I would like to come into each classroom to review our technology expectations. I have a "new and improved" presentation to share with students that focus not only on iPads, but technology as a whole. This will take about 30 minutes and we can do an iPad preview at the end. Students will also receive the "Elementary Student Technology Use Guidelines and Responsibilities" form that must be taken home and signed. I am able to come into your classroom as early as Wednesday for this review. Please see me or use the "Book a Tech Integration Time" link in my email signature to book your time.

Tech Assistance Sessions Reminder: Just a reminder that there are tech help sessions available Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday this week at 3:00. This week we will focus on creating Apple IDs which are needed to complete the teacher iPad set up process.

Book Choice: Thank you to everyone who signed up for a book choice time. Book choice will begin on Friday, September 11 (Day 1). If you haven't signed up for a time yet, there are many still available. Please see the email sent out last week for time options and let me know what works for you. Each book choice block will be 20 minutes this year. Classroom teachers will assist students with finding "just right" books and Toni will run the check out portion and help students navigate the Media Center.
