NAEP Testing Reminder: NAEP Testing for fourth grade will take place on Monday, February 16th. The Media Center will be closed for the day to accommodate testing.

Smarter Balanced Practice Sessions: The weeks of March 2nd and March 9th are practice testing weeks for BMS. Teachers in grades 3-5, if you have not signed your class up for a practice session (or two), please see me this week to schedule your time. Each practice session is a one hour block of time.

February Vacation Reminders: This week is a great time to clean and sanitize the iPad screens! Remember, since the student iPads have a protective screen on them, you can use Clorox wipes, spray, etc. and not worry about damaging the iPads.  If you need a spray bottle of cleaner, we have some in the Media Center. Vacation is also a good time to completely shut off the iPads. That way they will all have a fresh start when we return on March 2nd.

Strand Info: Please be looking for a couple important emails regarding our final strand session on March 13th!

Tech Spotlight: Many students in the upper grades have been introduced to the app Handouts. Handouts is a step towards the paperless classroom. Basically you can take a picture of any worksheet or sheet that you want students to complete and distribute it to them via the iPads. Students receive the handout and can complete it and turn it in right on their device. No paper copies needed! The initial intent was to use this app for OGAP items or Engage NY exit tickets, but it can be used for anything. First and second grade teachers, if this sounds interesting please let me know and we can discuss it further.
