Staff Meeting
Lexia Training: During our Thursday staff meeting we will receive training on the Lexia Core5 program. There is a free iPad app that accompanies this program. It is called Core5 and is available in the App Store. If you have a Teacher Apple ID set up to download apps, feel free to download this app yourself. If not, don't stress! I'll be around to your classroom at the start of this week to download the app for you. Once the app is downloaded, you do need a password to begin using it. This will be taken care of at the staff meeting on Thursday.

Rotation Schedule
Now that we are on a new 6 day rotation, it might be a good time to think about either a weekly  or Day 1, 2, etc. tech time in your classroom. Many teachers have scheduled a set time either on the M-F calendar or the 6 day rotation calendar. Technology activities will be integrated into your curriculum. If this is something you are interested in, please let me know and we can schedule a time!

The next strand session is quickly approaching on Tuesday, January 20th. Please be looking for an email from me in the near future with important information regarding our session.

Tech Spotlight
With a new year, there are great technology activities and projects happening at BMS! All three fifth grades are working on regions projects along with the Educreations app. Each student is a travel agent and is responsible for creating a video about their region to persuade others to visit. First grade has been working with the app Popplet Lite to share knowledge of number bonds and fact families. A second grade class is app smashing with the Geoboard app and Educreations to create shape videos. One third grade learned about the Socrative app and how to use it for a review quiz. TypingWeb is being used in many classrooms as a station/center, which is excellent typing practice for students in grades 3-5. We are off to a great 2015!
