Save Your Projector Bulb!: Just a reminder to please use the "AV Mute" button on your projector control box when you are not using your projector. This turns the bulb off without turning off the entire projector and you will not see the bright blue screen which uses bulb life. The projector should be turned off at the end of the day.

Digital Citizenship Week: The week of October 18th is Digital Citizenship Week. We will be focusing on Digital Citizenship during our Media Tech classes and we are hoping to be able to visit Morning Meetings in each fourth and fifth grade during that week. More information on this week and signups will be coming soon!

BMS Yearbook Photos: Jen Ferguson will again be handling the BMS yearbook. In the past, we have put pictures into the "BMS Images" folder in Google Drive. I have re-shared this folder with all of you. Please put pictures into this folder throughout the year as you go on field trips, do special projects, etc. Hopefully this will avoid the scramble to put all the pictures in right before the deadline in April.  Thanks!

October 9 Teacher Webpages: From 8:00-9:00 I'll be having an optional workshop to build your teacher webpage. This will include working with the Google template that many of you saved last spring. We will meet in the Media Center. Feel free to bring your laptop or you are welcome to use one of ours.

Tried Epic!?: Epic! is a great app that allows students to read and listen to real fiction and nonfiction books on their iPads. Epic! has made access to thousands of books free for educators. I introduced this app to two classes this week and I haven't seen students so excited about an app in a long time. Please let me know if you would like your students to use Epic! I can help you get your teacher account set up and introduce the app to your class!

Tech Spotlight: Fifth grade is well underway in their immigration books using the app Book Creator. A second grade is using Popplet to label parts of a tree and insert an image. Fourth grades are busy researching birds of prey using BMS School Links and creating informational books using Book Creator.
