Strands: Thank you to everyone who came to the "Integrating iPads" strand on Friday afternoon! I hope you left with a new app, or two, to integrate into your literacy curriculum. Please let me know how I can support you with the integration or if you have lingering questions! I'm looking forward to our next strand session in November!

YouTube Videos and ViewPure: Want to show a YouTube video to your class without all the clutter of side videos, ads and inappropriate comments? ViewPure is a great option for this! Copy the web address (URL) of the YouTube video, go to the ViewPure website HERE and paste the web address into the "Purify" box. Click "Purify" and you'll see your video without clutter. Share the new web address with colleagues, etc. and they will be able to view the video without clutter as well!

Parent Conferences: After the building portion of our staff meeting on Thursday, 10/16, I will be holding a workshop on using YouCanBook.Me for parent conference sign-ups. The workshop will be in the Media Center and we can work right on the laptops in the lab.

Destiny Quest: A couple weeks ago I talked about the Destiny Quest app as a direct link to our BMS library catalog. If you would like me to come in and do an introduction of this app with your class, please sign up with YouCanBook.Me or let me know!

Tech Spotlight: A fifth grade class is using Book Creator to create digital books based on their immigration projects. Students have been busy researching information, finding images, and citing sources for their books. Once completed, these books will be part of the immigration festival and will then be shared so other students can access and read all about various countries.
