Lexia is Here!: Lexia is now available school-wide at BMS. Each teacher and student has a Lexia account including students who used the program last year or over the summer (progress has transferred over). I'd like to be able to introduce your students to Lexia, get them signed in with their Google usernames and passwords (all students in 1-5 will use their Google accounts), and started on the pre-assessment. Please sign up for a 30 minute time for this introduction beginning this Thursday thru next week. Sarah Bond will be working with grade level teams on the teacher dashboard side of things during PLCs beginning 10/25-10/31. By that point, all students will have used the program and there will be actual data to look at and work with.

Headphones Reminder: Many headphones have been handed out to BMS students. If you are still in need of headphones, please let me know how many and I will deliver them to you ASAP. Headphones are extremely important for Dreambox, Lexia, and parts of the new science units.

Workshop Reminder: The Saving Projects in Google Drive workshop will take place on Tuesday afternoon from 3:00-4:00 in the Media Center.

Tech Spotlight: A couple fifth grade classes are taking part in the Global Read Aloud with the book Pax by Sara Pennypacker. The Global Read Aloud is a way to connect with other classrooms and students around the world through a shared book. The fifth graders are using the website WriteAbout to connect with other students and post about the book Pax. This is a great way for students to be come global communicators while practicing digital citizenship. First graders having been showing their number bond knowledge by making number bonds in Popplet. A great addition to this would be to add the photo to SeeSaw and have students record themselves giving the equation that matches the number bond.
