PRECISION EXAMS

CTE Centers receive federal funding through the Carl D. Perkins Act. For the State and local centers to receive Perkins funds certain criteria need to be met to measure success. One performance measure is technical skills attainment. New Hampshire recommends that centers use the standardized Precision Exams to assess mastery of program standards/competencies and skills. The Fall Mountain CTE Center administers the Precision Exams. In 2017 – 2018 Horticulture program completers achieved 81% on the Precision Exam and 83% of the completers earned the Precision Exams Horticulture and Greenhouse Management Certificate.

In 2017 – 2018 Animal Science program completers achieved 84% on the Precision Exam and 83% of the completers earned the Precision Exams Animal Science Certificate.

PERKINS PERFORMANCE INDICATORS REPORT

The State Bureau of Career Development gathers other student data such as academic attainment, high school completion, and placement. The State analyzes the data to generate a CTE Center Performance Indicators Report for each center. The results of this report are important as to how Perkins funds may be spent. If an indicator score is below the negotiated target goal, then Perkins funds need to be directed to that indicator first. The Performance Indicators follow:

· Academic Attainment in Reading/Language Arts (1S1)

· Academic Attainment in Math (1S2)

· Technical Skill Attainment (2S1)

· Secondary School Completion (3S1)

· Graduation Rate (4S1)

· Placement (employment, cont. education, military, etc.) (5S1)

· Non-traditional Participation (6S1) (ie. training, outreach, mentoring gender-free learning environment)

· Non-traditional Program Completion (6S2)

The FM CTE Center performed well on the recent Performance Indicator Report. Just one area, graduation rate, was identified for improvement. A plan to improve graduation rate was submitted to the State and approved.
