Librarian Mrs. Plaisted

Two books

Where we watch the "Light Bulbs" turn on when a child learns to read for the first time.

Our library consists of reading stories, computer time, and maker space areas that coincide with Common Core Standards and Personalized Learning.

Oct. and Nov. 2019

We are settling in to our new surroundings and schedule. Our lollipop pull is in full swing! As of Oct. 10th we have raised approx. $90.00 for our library. The children at SSS sure love the baked goods and prizes. We will continue for the month of October.

Our book fair will be arriving soon. Next week (Oct, 21 - Oct. 25) is when our book fair will be up and running. Come join us on Tuesday evening Oct. 22nd from 5:30 - 6:30. Don't tell anyone but the holidays are coming!

The children have been listening to "Ghost Cat and Other Spooky Tales". Grades 3 and 4 are writing their own Spooky Sagas!

November will bring Fall and Thanksgiving stories and activities.

My beginning theme this year is:

"Let's kick off the year with a good book!"

Library will continue to consist of Personalized Learning areas using STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) to help us. What we are reading will help determine what areas of STEM/STEAM we will be doing.
