Books at the Beach Part 2!

posted Jul 10, 2016, 5:49 PM by Kate Dockham

I tried to convince someone to choose this book for summer reading and now I wish I had! A book about redemption, how things aren't always what they seem to be, and perseverance. Then to find out the whole story is written about a true event!! Very cool. Definitely a must read for grades 5-8!

Books at the Beach!

I was on vacation last week at beautiful Jenness State Beach in Rye, NH and I totally enjoyed this book while I was there! So glad a staff member chose it to be part of our summer reading program! This book shows how a crisis situation can bring out the good, and the bad, in us. Best part of it was that Rodman Philbrick comes from New Hampshire and set this story in northern NH. The main character travels to Concord and it is described so well I could tell where Philbrick was writing about!

Stop by for a visit!

As we all begin a busy summer, I have many things planned to get done in the library. I hope when you return you will notice many of the changes!  Just to let you know - the library will be open July 19, August 2, and August 16 from 6-7 pm. This will be a great chance for students to come and check out their summer reading books.
