Meet Your Teacher
My name is Claire Pare and this will be my seventh year teaching English at HBHS. I taught English at Raymond High School for two years prior to coming to HB. I graduated from the University of New Hampshire with my Bachelor of Arts in English in 2012 and my Masters of Education in 2013. While completing my undergraduate degree, I studied abroad in London, England and completed an art seminar tour in France. Originally I am from Merrimack, NH and my husband is from Nashua, NH. We have two cats (Stormy Tuesday and Theodore; the latter is pictured above) and a black lab mix named Penny. We also have a two year old daughter and are expecting our son in November of 2021. In my spare time I enjoy reading, gardening, traveling, and horseback riding. My favorite genres of books include historical fiction and futuristic dystopian. My all-time favorite book is Peter Heller’s ‘The Dog Stars’, and my favorite author is the late Maya Angelou. The comic strip 'Calvin and Hobbes' is one of my favorite things on this planet, as I found the meanings changed from when I read them as a child to when I read them as an adult. I consider it part of my job to help you find new meanings in the things you find meaningful, too. I'm looking forward to a great year!
