CSDA Library News:

Dear CSDA Families:

Trimester three is well underway. We have a variety of projects planned during library class. 4th graders are using maps and atlases, participating in a "book tasting" and finishing the year with library jeopardy. 5th graders are writing poems including Diamante and Concrete poems. 6th graders have finished a Descriptive Writing project and will complete an Opinion Writing piece and a STEM careers research unit.

Our Scholastic Spring Book Fair will be held May 31st thru June 5th. An evening event is planned for Thursday, May 31st from 6:30 to 8:30. Please join us!

Library flex time is offered to 4th and 5th grade classes each week on a rotating basis. Students visit the library for hands on activities including games, STEM activities, crafts, and independent or buddy reading. 6th grade flex time is offered each day for students to work on projects and homework in a quiet environment.

Please follow the links above to access a number of student and parent resources. ScienceFlix database offers a full range of articles, videos, and websites on science related topic specifically for 4, 5, and 6th graders. Also EBSCOHost provides full text articles from thousands of magazines, journals, and newspapers. Additionally NoveList and NoveList K-8 provide information about fiction reading including reviews, awards and links to author websites and read alikes. Passwords for databases are available in the library.

Please let me know how I may help you!
