What is math intervention? The purpose of math intervention at Bristol Elementary School is to increase math fact fluency and accuracy as well as build mathematical strategies through the Eureka Math curriculum, math games, and various activities. Students are assessed through district and state testing and by a collaboration of the classroom and math intervention teacher. Additional instruction is provided weekly as an extension to classroom lessons. As well as developing math ability, intervention focuses on increasing the student's independence, perseverance, and growth mindset in mathematics. Successful math intervention includes collaboration from the entire education team, including the classroom and intervention teacher, the student, and the parents/guardians. |
