    Physical Education is not your parent's old stuffy roll out the ball "gym" class. Similarities do exist between the traditional gym class and P.E. class however the desired results and principles of practice differ greatly. P.E. encourages the individual to participate in movement activities and learn how to better execute skills required of the activities. P.E. promotes a healthy lifestyle and a positive way of life.
    At the elementary level we strive to encourage students to enjoy the activities known and unknown to them. Discovering new movement activities is also a key point of interest at this level of student development.  Locomotor movements and other skills and concepts to give the students a solid movement base to stand on for other more complex movements skills used in more complex and common games seen in society is also a focus at the fundamental level.
