So, you are taking AP Calculus! Our goal is for you to completely understand the concepts in this course. It may require us going back and reviewing old topics so you can move forward. For summer work, I would like you to go through these topics and be sure to communicate with me on any topics that you do not feel are strong. Please ask yourself "Do I understand this problem?" (I had a past student refer to understanding as "owning" the problem. Do you "own" the problem?) Please realize I am always willing to divert and go through the past or new topics. Trust me, in the long run, it is worth the extra time to go back before we go forward.
Students enrolled in AP Calculus need to complete these assignments before the first day of school. Running Start Students will have 5 class days to complete these assignments.
(1) The first thing I ask you to is to purchase one notebook and one binder. The notebook will be used for your notes. You will take notes while watching a video. I will ask to see your notes starting with unit 2. You do not need to take notes for the summer unit (Chapter 1) because it is a review.
The binder will be for loose leaf paper. You need to complete all of your homework on lined paper. I will ask you to show me your work for each Math XL assignment. I would like you to do this for Unit 1 AP Calculus students, I will ask to see your work on the first day of school.
(2) Join the following class on Math XL: XL07-W1JP-4021-4H63
(3) Complete the following assignments on Math XL:

(7) Read this article about Preparing for AP Calculus. As you read the article, pick topics you feel you need to review. Please email me your list of 3 topics and then we will work together to come up with a few Khan Academy topics for you to review. I will assign them to you individually, using Khan Academy.
