Differentiation

Adding Resources Throughout the Year

Resources will be posted here for teachers to improve their differentiation practices in the classroom, with the emphasis placed on identified gifted students. However, all students benefit from individualized, differentiated instruction.

Gifted students may or may not be ahead of their peers in the classroom. They also may be advanced in some areas but not others. Here are some common myths from the National Association for Gifted Children: http://www.nagc.org/resources-publications/resources/myths-about-gifted-students. Gifted students need a curriculum that is full of rigor, choice, and proper pacing. They still need instruction time, and it is not fair to them as a learner or peer to be put in charge of tutoring other students. We want to create an environment where they still feel challenged, no matter what level they're at.
