Lesson 4 – Shutters.

You can apply the shutters visual effect to an empty layer to create shutters over any images underneath that layer.

A – Set up layer 1

First clear any information from the previous lessons in your consoles programmer. Then on your lighting console select layer 1 and set the intensity parameter to a DMX value of 255 (100%).

Set the library and file parameters to choose the movie or image you want to transform. If it is a movie then set theplay mode parameter to a DMX value of 2 (play loop forward) and the movie will start to play.

B – Create shutters on layer 2.

Now on your lighting console select layer 2 and set the intensity parameter to a DMX value of 255 (100%).

With layer 2 selected, set the visual effects parameter to a DMX value of 70 (shutter – black), then adjust the scale parameter until you can see that the black shutters on layer 2 are cropping your image on layer 1.

C – Change the shape of the shutters and rotate them.

Adjust the 8 Keystone Correction parameters in layer 2 in order to change the shape of the shutters.

Then you can also adjust the Z rotation parameter in layer 2 to rotate the shutters over the image in layer 1.
