Tucson Unified School District invites parents, students, teachers and members of the community to attend forums to discuss its proposed new Code of Conduct.
Six sessions will be held at high schools around the district. The goal of the forums is to explain proposed changes and get feedback from stakeholders.
You can also provide your feedback through our online form.
Please join us at one of the following forums to learn more and share your perspective.
The Cholla High session will be streamed live for those who cannot attend a forum.
Spanish translation services will be provided. If you have questions about the forums, please call 225-6422.
To help facilitate communication and provide contact information for classmates and parents, we are creating a student directory! Use this link to submit the contact information you would like listed:

This directory will be solely for the use of Sam Hughes Elementary staff, students, and parents/guardians. The information in this directory is for personal use only and should not be used for any other purpose.
Our optional supply list for 2016-17 is ready and can be found attached to this post! If you would like to bring any of the supplies on the list for your student's classroom, you may. Everything your student needs for day-to-day learning will be provided for them. We do recommend you purchase a backpack for your student and label it with your student's name on the inside!
We have also had several questions about Sam Hughes's dress code. We comply with TUSD's Student Dress policy, but are not a uniform school--students can wear whatever colors and styles you and they agree on, as long as the clothing meets the district's standards of appropriate school wear.
If purchasing clothing and backpacks is a financial hardship for you, you can call the TUSD Clothing Bank at (520) 232-7058 to make an appointment. TUSD's family centers are here to help you.
On August 3rd, from 9 to 10 AM, our incoming kindergartners and their families are welcome to come and attend an open house. Come meet your teacher and your classmates!
|We are going to have a great Earth Day celebration at Sam Hughes E.S. this Friday, April 22nd, 2016, organized by the Greening Group!|
We'll have activities in the morning (9 AM - 1 PM) and in the afternoon (2:45 PM - 4:45 PM) that include solar power, air quality, water issues, seed borrowing and sharing with your local library, building gourd birdhouses, face painting, and our great School Choir performance!
The class visiting schedule during the school day will be:

The new route will pass by our school!
The 78th Annual Chuckwagon and Silent Auction will be held on Saturday March 12, 2016 from 2 – 6 P.M.
The Chuckwagon/Silent Auction is our biggest PTA fundraiser of the year. This unique fundraising event features a fun-filled afternoon of games, food and a silent auction. With the money raised from this event PTA is able to support great programs and provide funding for OMA, Chess, P.E., Raz-Kids, teacher stipends and field trips.
By coming together and making this a successful event we have greater opportunities to also support other educational needs such as tutors, technology or other events throughout the year.
Your support is important and greatly appreciated. Volunteers are always needed to make this event possible. Contact email@example.com if you would like to be on the planning committee.
We need items to auction off at the event.
