    WSES Summer Sizzler Reading Program

The PTA at West Salem Elementary invites all students in grades K-4 to participate in its Summer Sizzler Reading Program from June 12th – September 3rd. This program is designed to keep students reading over the summer in an eort to help them maintain, or even improve, their reading skill level.

To participate, your child simply needs to shade in a ame for every 15 minutes he/she spends reading each week during the aforementioned time period. A reading log is on the back of this sheet. Completed reading logs should be signed by a parent/guardian and returned to your child’s teacher at the beginning of next school year by September 9th. Please remember to include your child’s grade and his/her teacher’s name!

Reading can include any book, magazine, or newspaper – online or paper. Even beginning/non-readers can participate by recording the minutes that an adult reads to them. Suggested reading lists, by age, can be found at the following link. Simply scroll down to nd the list or lists that meet your needs.
