  • Kindergarten Registration
    Kindergarten Registration Information:  Parents of children who will be 5 years old on or before September 30, 2017, should register their child for kindergarten for the Fall of 2017.  Registration begins during the week of February 6-10, 2017 from 8:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. each day.  To register your child, go to the office of the school your child will attend.  Bring proof of residency and your child’s original birth certificate with you.  Questions?  Call Salem City Schools at 389-0130.

  • Wonder Wednesdays in the Library
    Mrs. Blanchard, West Salem's Librarian, implemented Wonder Wednesdays so students can stretch their minds in the MakerSpace Lab.  Here are a few construction activities from today!

  • MakerSpace in Action!
    West Salem's librarian, Mrs. Blanchard, has been taking the students to the MakerSpace room every Wednesday.  This is a place for students to explore building things, collaborating with others, discovering new ideas, and so much more.  The focus of the lesson today was Simple Machines.  Students were given materials and asked to create something that included a simple machine.  These two second grade girls from Mrs. Mann's class came up with the machine in the picture below...which includes a wheel and axle!

  • Cox-Hurley-Rowe Scholarship Recipient
    Tarri Gauck was honored by the school board Tuesday evening.  She is a recipient of the Salem Educational Foundation Cox-Hurley-Rowe Professional Development Scholarship for Teachers.  She will receive funds to help with a project in her classroom.  Congratulations Mrs. Gauck!
