Welcome to Ms. Pitts' Class News!

We are enjoying our study of non-fiction texts! We have traveled to Antarctica and learned about ants! Learning about the text and graphic features of non-fiction will help us become better readers.
At home, your student can practice reading skills on readtheory.org!

Every student needs to be reading 15-20 minutes a day.

A great way to practice English skills at home is noredink! Your child knows how to log in and work on current assignments.  If your child is reading daily, as required, then have them write a response about what was read. This will help their writing skills as well.
 Word Study

Please remember we do have spelling words each week. Make sure to study these at home each night. Calling out the words and having your child write them down is a great pre-test strategy to use the night before the test!
