Weekly, a group of senior kendoka meet to challenge each other in competition. This weekly challenge leads to a national standings ladder, which is shown below. The attendance of these events is also used to further develop a rating for each kendoka, these two metrics will be used as input for the selection of the South African National Kendo Team to represent South Africa at the 2014 European Kendo Championships in France, and in 2015 at the World Kendo Championships in Japan.
