Dear Students and Parents,

I welcome you to the 2012/2013 school year!  My name is Miss Lechner. I am teaching language arts to grades 6, 7, and 8 for Mrs. Leahy until her scheduled return in January. I am a 7th grade homeroom teacher for group 7b, while Mr. Kessler’s homeroom consists of the remainder of the 7th grade (group 7a). There is a new hall structure for the middle school students; Each student belongs to a hall consisting of students from grades 6-8. Students in my hall are a part of Saint Joseph Hall. The purpose of the hall format is to create a safe environment in which students of different ages can build relationships, strengthen school community, promote citizenship, partake in service opportunities, and have fun!

I am incredibly enthusiastic about my time at Saint Thecla. I am looking forward to getting to know each and every one of you. Here is a tidbit of information about myself.  I am a 2011 graduate of Illinois State University with a Bachelors Degree in Middle Level Education. I hold a teaching certificate for grades k-9 with middle school endorsements in both language arts and social studies. I look forward to implementing exciting lessons and challenging the students to put forth their best effort. I am confident that this school year is going to be productive and enriching.

My school webpage will be updated daily with any announcements and homework assignments. Please encourage your child to utilize this tool regularly.

Please have your child bring all of their school supplies to school before September 5th. The complete list can be found on my school webpage.

The middle school open house will be held on September 5th. We will cover the homework and grading policy at that time.

Upcoming school events to put on the calendar include:

  • Picture Day                              August 29
  • Labor Day (no school)             September 3
  • School uniforms start               September 4
  • 6-8 Open House                      September 5 at 7:00 P.M.

I hope to see all of you at the open house!
