We had our first lunch time book club meeting on October 16. Seven students attended the meeting and they really enjoyed themselves. They were respectful of others and their opinions. They wanted to know when we would meet again. I'm previewing several books and will announce our next book soon.
Students have not been returning their Friday folder on Mondays. Please review classwork and tests. I'm holding all writing assignments in a binder.
Tomorrow is our first lunch book club meeting. If your child read Ninth Ward, they are welcome to come.
Just a reminder: Identa-Kid money is due on Friday.
I just wanted to let you know that 4th graders will be readers at two masses: 10/23 and 11/1. Please try to attend.
I just wanted to let you know about my lunch time book club. On October 16 we will be discussing Ninth Ward . Many students purchased the book at the book fair and I thought it would be a great opportunity to discuss the book in a small group. This book is also on Reading Counts, so students will be able to take a test and earn points. I will provide a treat that is mentioned in the book.
I hope your child will attend.
Thank you for teaching your child how to use a combination lock. Some students are still encountering problems, so I step in at least once a day. We'll need to have the locks in use by Friday.
We will be going to the book fair on Thursday. I understand a few of our Battle Books are available at the book fair.
Just a reminder, let me know if your child is interested in participating in our Battle of the Books program.

Students received their locker locks today. Please have them practice using their locks. Hopefully, by Friday they'll be efficient at using a combination lock. They may begin using locks when you feel they are proficient.
Welcome to 6th grade!
