Dress Code


GIRLS:
Grades K-4:
Blue plaid uniform jumper for girls grades 1-4, plaid uniform skirt for girls in grade 5. A white white polo shirt with 3 buttons, long or short sleeves. Jumper length must go to the kneecap.  Polo shirts must be buttoned to the top.  Shirts must be tucked in at all times.  A navy blue sweatshirt with the St. Stephen logo o­nly may be worn.  Navy blue dress slacks may be worn (no patch pockets are allowed). If slacks have belt loops belts (plain - black, brown, or navy blue) must be worn.
 
Grade 5:
Adhere to the same uniform as grades K-4 - except the jumper is replaced with a blue skirt.
 
Grades 6-8:
Navy blue or khaki, loose fit, dress slacks with a navy blue, light blue, or white polo shirt. Hip-hugger or low-cut slacks are NOT permissible.  Belts must be worn. A navy blue sweatshirt with the St. Stephen logo only may be worn. The blue plaid uniform skirt will be allowed.
 
Socks:
Solid color crew socks, knee-highs, or tights.  Colors should match the uniform.
 
Shoes:  
Dress shoes with a closed heel and toes in any dark color (black, brown, or navy).  Heels are to be no higher than one inch.  Skechers may be worn.  They must be brown, black, or navy blue.  No designs or visible logos.  No "hightops", clog type, or sandals.  Shoe boots are not acceptable for classroom wear.  No heelless or toeless shoes - for safety reasons.
 
Misc.
  • Make-up of any kind is NOT allowed.  Only clear lip balm (not gloss) is permissible.  No lip gloss, mascara, eye liner, or eye shadow of any kind.  No nail polish, no fake nails.
  • Small conservative post type earrings only (one set).  No drop earrings.  Earrings are to be worn in the ear lobe only.  No other earrings are allowed.  No excessive, expensive jewelry.  Only a religious type of necklace will be allowed.  No current fad accessories such as beads, pearls, chokers, plastic wrist bands, etc.
  • Only conservative, neat hairstyles are acceptable.  Hair must be natural color with no tints or dyes.  Hair should not obstruct the vision of the student.
  • St. Stephen sweatshirts, if worn, must be worn over the uniform polo shirt.  Collar must be pulled over the sweatshirt neckline.
 
GYM UNIFORM

Girls and Boys All Grades:
In September and May o­nly, students are allowed to wear navy blue dress shorts (grades K-5), navy blue or khaki (grades 6-8). 
All shorts must reach the kneecap.  Utility pants/shorts/capri's are not permitted.
 
Other Dress Code Regulations 
  • Boy Scout and Girl Scout / Brownie full uniforms are permitted on meeting days.
  • Polo shirts must be a knit shirt with a collar ad two or three button front.  No logos are permitted.
  • All clothing should be labeled with student's name.

  • Jean Day
    • Jean day is held during the last week of each month, the day will be determined at the beginning of the school year.  Monies collected on this day is put into the Technology Fund.  Once again, administration has the authority to determine unacceptable dress on this date.  If the last week is during a holiday, there is no make-up day.
