What's happening in first grade.

May 15, 2018

Hello Everyone!

All the teachers were asked to pick a t-shirt color for our children to wear to the Walk-a-thon, field day and also on our
field trip to Casey Farm on June 13. Our color is purple, t-shirts are very affordable at all the craft stores. The children
can also wear a purple shirt with appropriate writing.

The children finished the chapter on regrouping ,money and are now working on time.
If you haven't already bought addition flashcards, it is a great idea.
Our final Science chapter----the Ocean! This is a fun project that ties in with our field trip to Casey Farms. Details are on their way.
AR testing is very successful!!  Please keep reading with them at home and ask them questions about the book. If you are not noticing the AR result papers coming home, encourage your child to take the test. Most of the children are in the "Five Point Club" and moving on.

*Please make sure that any books that are sent home are returned the next day. This includes the hard cover Anthology and the little Guided Reading books. These are shared within the classroom and are often needed the following day.

Thank you for your support! You know where to find me with any questions.
