The AP-2D Studio Art course is designed for students who are seriously interested in the practical experience of art and wish to develop mastery in the concept, composition, and execution of their ideas. Students who take this course usually are planning on pursuing art in a university or art school in the future. AP Studio Art is not based on a written exam; instead, students submit portfolios for evaluation at the end of the school year. This portfolio requires students to produce a minimum of 24 works of art that reflect issues related to 2D design (which will be divided into three sections: Quality, Breadth and Concentration). One Exhibition Report per quarter is also required.
Please visit apstudioart.com to view detailed information on AP Studio Art and view past student actual portfolios.
Summer work (prior to the start of the course), is also required and assigned in May.
