The following is pertinent information that will help make the coming year a happy and productive one:

ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL - Arrival time is 7:40-7:55am. The children should be dropped off at the main entrance of the school and proceed to their classroom. I will be in the classroom to meet them. The kindergarten will dismiss at the front door of the school at 2:20pm. Remember, students will only be dismissed to people who are on the emergency contact form.

CHANGES AT HOME - Children bring their home experiences to school and we can give them understanding and support if we are kept informed of changes. It is important for us to be aware if you are away on a trip, hospitalization of a relative, birth of a new baby,etc...

SCHOOL ATTENDANCE - Your child's regular and prompt attendance at school is crucial to their success. We cannot stress this enough. Most kindergarten learning activities are group oriented and involve interactions with classmates. Therefore it is next to impossible to make up work from home. Please view school as a priority and see to it that your child attends everyday day except in cases of illness or emergencies.

ABSENCE NOTES: Whenever your child is absent from school please call the office on the first day of the absence. Please send in an absent note on the day your child returns to school.

LUNCH: If your child does not have an insulated bag, please label their brown paper bag with their name and the word “LUNCH.” Please supply a drink with their lunch. Children will have the option of buying hot lunch each day. Check the school website for the menu. If you decide to buy lunch, please send the money in an envelope clearly labeled with your child's name, class, amount of money, and what they will be ordering for lunch that day.

SNACKS: Snacks should be in a separate brown bag from lunch and marked with their name and the word “SNACK” on the outside; this is to avoid your child mixing up the snack with the lunch. One snack is all that is necessary along with a drink (i.e. small bottle of water). Candy is not allowed for a snack time treat.

CLOTHING: Please send in a complete change of clothes (shirt, pants, underwear, socks) in a large zip-lock bag. All articles of clothing must be labeled with your child’s name. In addition please write your child's full name on the outside of the zip-lock bag.

CLASS DUES - $20 per child (cash/check made out to cash) due the first week of school. Also please send into school a box of tissues, a roll of paper towels, and a box of baby wipes for classroom use.

MEDICATION – If your child needs any medication you must bring the medication to the nurse’s office and the necessary paperwork.

BIRTHDAYS - Please send in a note a few days in advance of your request to bring a birthday treat to school. Send a treat that is easily distributed (cupcakes, munchkins, etc...) and please supply napkins. No drinks for birthday parties. Birthday invitations may not be handed out in school. (NUT FREE TREATS ONLY)

ALLERGIES - Please let us know what your child is allergic to in a note.

HOMEWORK - Homework will be given Monday-Thursday. Please make sure it is neat, complete, and signed by a parent. Just do the assigned pages - it is very important to never go ahead in any book.

MONEY - All money must be sent in a sealed envelope labeled with the child's name/grade and purpose of the money.

BUSES - Please send in a note on a 3x5 index card when it is necessary for a change in the bus routine. Only a one time note is needed to make a permanent change on any given day of the week. (example, walker every Monday) as the note will be kept on file.                                       **NO CHILD WILL BE ALLOWED ANY CHANGE IN THEIR NORMAL ROUTINE WITHOUT A WRITTEN NOTE**

Lastly, children in kindergarten want to be independent and they are very capable of it. Make them feel responsible in every way. For example, looking after their own things, carrying their own school bag, etc...

Thank you for your cooperation and we look forward to a wonderful school year!

Each day, students should bring with them:

PLEASE KEEP IN YOUR SCHOOL BAG AT ALL TIMES:

*1 - An individual size pack of tissues

*2 - An individual size pack of wipes
