Congratulations to all the students who found a way to build the 7x7 square with 4 pieces. These include Caroline in the 2nd grade, Charlotte W, Henry .and Angus in 3rd grade, Eamon and Henry S., Meike, and Fiona in the 4th grade, Oliver in the 5th grade, and Fiona M. and Eli R. in the 7th grade. The math department found about 10 ways to accomplish this cutting along grid lines and an infinity of solutions if you don't cut along the grid lines.
