Congratulations to Luke H., and Zeeshan of the 3rd grade and Claire L. of the 4th grade for cutting the velvet into two pieces of equal area by cutting along the line defined by the centers of the large rectangle and the rectangular hole. These centers can be easily found by drawing the diagonals of each rectangle and finding the point at which the diagonals cross! Honorable mention goes to Hanah I. of the third grade for finding her own method of cutting the shapes in half.
