Problem of the Week

for Tuesday, February 5, 2013

The arrangement of six points shown below maximizes the number of hexagons that can be drawn with 6 points given as vertices. How many different hexagons can you draw with this arrangements. Note: congruent hexagons that are reflections or rotations of each other are considered for this problem as being different. (The math department would like to thank our former student, Lawrence D. for contributing this problem.)
