This week even hungrier thieves have been stealing from Barbara's basket! Each day for five days the thieves have stolen cookies. This time, the way they operate is to take one cookie, then half of the remaining cookies, then one more cookie. On the sixth day the basket is empty. How many cookies were originally in the basket?
