Required Materials

The following supplies should be with you every day for Ms. Bowyer’s class:

• 1-inch binder for this class ONLY (you will leave it in the classroom). In the binder you need:

• Lined paper (about 300 sheets for the whole year)

• Graph paper (about 100 sheets for the whole year)

• Tabs labeled for three sections:

  • Current Chapter

  • Notes

  • Handouts

• Pencils with eraser

• Grading pens (any color – not black)

Optional Supplies: You are not required to have these, but you might appreciate having your own.

• A folder so you can carry papers to and from school

• Highlighter

• Ruler (6 inches is enough)

• Calculator

• The Desmos app on your phone

You are required to keep all your work for the class in an organized 1-inch binder. Below are some tips to help you stay organized:

What Goes Where?

• Current Chapter tab – you will store all homework (HW) and class work (CW) for the chapter with oldest assignments at the back. At the end of each chapter you will clean out your binder in class.

• Notes tab – any notes we take in class or answers to Learning Logs.

• Handouts tab – any handouts printed on colored paper. Keep these for the whole year!

• Extra paper – keep in the front or back of your binder where you can easily grab what you need.

Is This For a Grade/Will I Be Graded on My Binder?

Yes.

Ms. Bowyer will do binder checks periodically to check that you have everything you should have, and that it is in its correct location. They will NOT be announced in advance. Keep your binder organized!
