Dear Seniors and families,

We hope you all had a restful Thanksgiving break. It was lovely to have a few of you pop in to see us during the conference days.

Senior Class Officer elections have been held. Congratulations to:

  • Graylin Davey, President

  • Iaiela Saldivar, Vice President

Reminder: Students, please send in a picture of your face for the “class picture” collage. Please email it to Mrs. Federico by Tuesday, December 8th at the latest. Search your phones. We bet you have a bunch of really nice pictures already.

Ms. Gleason, the yearbook advisor, recently emailed home the detailed deadline list and how to submit each item. Please be mindful of the due dates as she has submission dates to the company. Stay in our communication loop. If you have not yet joined our class Facebook page, please search for it “Class of 2021, Pierson HS.” We also post our communications to the Google Classroom and class page on the school website.

Any ideas for fundraisers and spirit activities that adhere to the current safety guidelines, please let your class officers know. We will be meeting weekly. Look for our first class meeting in the coming weeks.

Respectfully,

Mr. Winkler and Mrs. Federico, Class of 2021 Advisors

Dear Students and Families of the Class of 2021,

It is with great pleasure that we write this letter as the newly appointed Advisors to the Class of 2021. One of us is a familiar face and proud Pierson alumni, Mrs. Federico. Mr. Winkler is new to Pierson HS this year and is looking forward to each of you showing him that Whaler Pride truly IS everywhere.

In the coming weeks, we will hold elections for class officers. Mr. Winkler supervises you during lunch and Mrs. Fed will be available to join you at times. So this will provide many opportunities to have class meetings in-person and remote, to hear from you, and come up with creative ideas for this senior year while keeping to the physical distancing and safety guidelines put forth.

We want to gather as many pictures and videos of the Class of 2021 from their years at Pierson. So many fun, school-spirited memories have been made. Parents, you have some homework. Please start looking through your cellphone pictures. Once we set up how to share these with us we will let you know.

We are in the process of putting together the various communication platforms to keep students and parents informed. You will receive at least one email per month. There is a Google Classroom Class Page and an old-school webpage you can easily access from the “Teacher Websites” page of the Pierson webpage. For those on Facebook, we have created a private group, “Class of 2021, Pierson HS.” If you are not already a member, please search for it and join. This page is solely for information and questions pertaining to the Class of 2021, therefore the only members may be parents, guardians, and students. As a private page, only members are able to see our posts. For now, it is set so any member may post without approval.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions, ideas, concerns, thoughts at tfederico@sagharborschools.org, awinkler@sagharborschools.org, or on our class Facebook page.

Together, we will work to make your final year at Pierson special. Your hopes for what this year would be is being reimagined. You have each earned the title of Senior and it is our honor to be on this final leg of high school with you.

Warmly,

Terri Federico and Andrew Winkler
