About Me:

Raised on a farm in Faribault, MN, I had always wanted to be a teacher!  Being #5 of 7 children taught me to work hard for what I wanted, share, cooperate, and have fun.  I attended Catholic Schools my whole life--Faribault Divine Mercy and Bethlehem Academy, The College of St. Benedict with an Elementary Education Degree, an Autism Spectrum Disorder Certification from the University of St. Thomas and a STEM certification from St. Kate's.  Currently I am working on my Master's in Leadership and Administration through the University of St. Thomas. This will be my 22nd year teaching in Catholic Schools with this being my 11th year at Sacred Heart.  I am married to Brian, have 2 step-children, Hudson and Hayley, and live in Plymouth.

School-wide theme this year:

stands for . . .
Prayer, Respect, Integrity, Determination, Excellence

Proud to be a Sacred Heart Ram!

My Philosophy:
I believe that every student, given a positive learning environment filled with challenges, creative energy, related consequences, and an element of surprise, can enjoy learning.  I work hard each day to get to know my students at a personal and academic level in order to better relate to and help them to learn.  Working and communicating together--families, student, and teachers--we can have a successful year!

Our daily prayer:

Welcome to 5th Grade!  I am excited to be back teaching at Sacred Heart for the 2017-2018 school year!  I will be teaching 5th grade reading, math, Language, Social Studies, and Religion as well as 6th grade Language. I am equally excited to work with the Middle School science teacher, Mrs.Petit, who will teach 5th grade science and the many other specialists as SH. Together we will make 5th grade a positive learning year filled with challenges, surprises, and fun!

Please stop by and introduce yourself to me! Since my room has always been downstairs, I haven't had the advantage of seeing your familiar faces each day while you came and went upstairs.  There are some new families this year for me, and I would enjoy getting to know you!
