Welcome to Kindergarten!

Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year! I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself, my name  is Matthew Bersaw and for the past three years I've been teaching middle school math at Christ the King school in Rutland Vermont.  I recently got married and moved to Bennington Vermont.  I'm very excited to be the new kindergarten teacher here at Sacred Heart School.  I know that this year is going to be a great year of fun filled learning!

Thoughts About Education:

All children have the right to learn in a safe environment. While in a safe environment, I believe children of all abilities can grow

through prayer and reflection.

As an educator in a Catholic school, I take very seriously, the responsibility to foster learning through prayer and reflection.

I provide opportunities for students to give back to the community and neighborhoods in which they live. I share the talents God has given me as a flexible, caring,

and devoted educator to help create and inspire children to embrace their faith, their relationship with God and use the gifts God has given to them to achieve greatness.

All types of learning experiences are important in order to have a well-rounded learning environment.  Learning through models,

lectures, projects, group work, and hands on experiences all play a vital role in children being engaged in learning.  Teamwork is

important. I work side-by-side with parents and other educators to ensure all children gain what they need to be

successful.
