Same Love

"Man, that's gay" gets dropped on the daily, We become so numb to what we're saying, A culture founded from oppression, Yet we don't have acceptance for 'em, Call each other faggots behind the keys of a message board, A word rooted in hate, yet our genre still ignores it, Gay is synonymous with the lesser, It's the same hate that's caused wars from religion, Gender to skin color, the complexion of your pigment, The same fight that led people to walk outs and sit ins, It's human rights for everybody, there is no difference! Live on and be yourself!
The emotions this song evokes from me is very sad and makes me a little bit mad!!  It makes me think about the people actually gay and how they might feel about other people acting unnatural in front of them! They feel.......... left out.. and a way that we can handle this is to stop "bullying" them.. to make them feel included. Imagine you walking by a couple of people and they begin yelling out mean things about you. How would any way make YOU feel.... self-consious, sad, you might also feel like changing your way of style in a way everyone else likes it. So.... you are losing your self-esteem and I don't think RTMS is such a school. This is an awesome school to be in.. a place where noone JUDGES you! It's not only about GAY, it's about many other things, too. Racism, Sexism, etc. are all other things that might be included in this. As the title of the song says, "Same Love", what do YOU think that means?!?! In my mind, or in my opinion, I think that the title means "to treat everyone the same way... to show the 'same love' to everyone." Thinking about these things make ME, personally a little uncomfortable but I still think about these topics. I don't get bullied by anyone but trying to "put yourselves in their shoes" and thinking about it, you might feel the pain these people go through. This was going to be my next blog...on Nelson Mandela! I guess I said a little TOO much but I really wanted to share this with everyone one of you. Thanks! :)
