Many people have a controversy if students should walk to school more often.  What side am I on you ask?  I definitely agree that we students need to walk to school more!  There are many benefits of walking, such as getting more physical activity and living longer.  Furthermore, most students’ houses are only about 5-20 minutes on a normal pace.  If our school was far then we would have to go to a closer school!  One big downer for parents are that they feel that letting their child walk home and to school is not safe, but walking to school can be very safe!  All you need is a friend/classmate to walk with and our school makes sure we are very safe because they teach us what to do in bad situations.  Walking to school is a great way to improve your responsibility.  It helps us be more responsibility because have to wake up earlier, know our ways to school and back, and be able to take care of ourselves. A big world issue in our world is global warming; the pollution cars make is one of the big causes to it! If pollution reduces, our ozone layer will be working.  Ozone layer is a layer on the Earth's atmosphere that adsorbs most of the suns radiation.  If it wasn't for our ozone layer, we would all burn to death.  Global warming is harmful to our ozone layer and causes it to break, if our ozone layer breaks NOTHING can replace it.  Do you now see the important of walking to school? Walking to school might seem like a handful but it’s not, once you get used to it, it will be fun AND easy for you!  So RTMS, get your walk on and participate in “Feet First Friday”!
