18 Dylan - DylKentCole on Gaming

Hi I'm Dylan.
And this is my blog where I'm going to talk about one of my favourite things. That thing is VIDEO GAMES!!
I'm going to do reviews and previews of certain games.
Some things I like are:
Video games, I'm a gamer and I spend most of my spare time on the computer. My favorite game is Far Cry 3, and I also like to play Minecraft.
Skiing, I love to ski whether it is water skiing or snow skiing I'm always the first one to get out there.
Movies, I like going to the movies and some of my favorite movies I've seen in the theaters are Iron man 3 and The Avengers.

Top 5 Xbox 1 games

posted May 29, 2014, 5:33 AM by Unknown user   [ updated Jun 20, 2014, 5:33 AM by Unknown user ]

Recently I got a new console that everybody knows about, the XBOX 1. It has so many innovative new features and the kinect actually works! Right now it doesn't really have many games but quality over quantity is the way to go. This is my list of the top 5 games I've played on Xbox 1.

5. Amazing Spider man 2 - The open world feel of this game combined with the hilariously overpowered combat skills and the nostalgic feeling I get when it reminds me of the old Spider man GameCube Games.

4. COD ghosts - I think that COD ghosts is an okay game that you can just pick up and play. But I think it gets a bit too much bad rep. It's alot of fun with all the old MW3 gamemodes.

3. Battlefield 4 - The amazing feeling of driving around and crushing your enemies is a feeling that only a few games successfully recreate. But that is only one of the things that makes me love battlefield 4.

2. Assassins Creed 4 - This game gives you a great open world experience and the addition of the boat is a great touch.

1. WATCH DOGS!! - Watch dogs is an amazing game with so many different play styles and side missions. The way I play I have all the best weapons and skills and I've only finished two missions. If you don't want to you don't even need to do the story. You can complete all the missions with either stealthy hacks and distractions or driving in with a big rig and a double barrel shotgun. R.I.P bad guys and other open world franchises.

Amazing Spider-man 2

The amazing spider man 2 is an amazingly fun game that reminds me of playing the old spider man games on GameCube when I was younger. It mixes the amazing feeling of swinging around and beating up criminals with a interesting story and amazing game play. It makes you feel like you have all the power. One of my personal favorite things to do is swing around the city and just avoiding the story completely. As interesting as the story is the missions are long and tedious. I think that this game could be better with some sort of multiplier but all in all I really like it. All in all this is a good game that brings back a lot of nostalgia but is not as good as the originals.

Watch Dogs

In watchdogs, everyone is a hacker! In this new game Watch Dogs which will be released on may 27th the main goal is to hack into the city and use your surroundings to get what you want. It's like a futuristic GTA and as I said before, I love open world games. This game lets you explore all of Chicago! That's huge! Also another cool thing that you might recognize if you played dead rising 2 is that people can join your single payer game and try to hack you! This is my number one game I'm looking forward to this year (because I think far cry 4 is a 2015 release). Also you can choose to be good or bad and have your story change if you do *cough cough mass effect *cough cough. So this game is taking a bunch of mechanics from a bunch of great games and I think it will be amazing!

Call of Duty Ghosts

posted May 14, 2014, 5:33 AM by Unknown user   [ updated May 22, 2014, 3:14 AM by Unknown user ]

This game is just one more in the seemingly infinite call of duty series. It seems much more like MW3 than BO2 and some people might say that BO2 is better but I disagree. I might be a little biased because MW3 was my first COD game but I really enjoy playing ghosts (Especially trolling in gun game). One thing I don't like is that I picked up ghosts a little bit later than most people so when I play team death match or free for all I end up just getting killed, A LOT! I do agree that some mechanics like the sniping are better in BO2 but I can't really notice a difference. I also like the bigger maps and the new marksman rifles as well. So all in all I really like COD ghosts and I would recommend it to someone who likes FPS games.

Plants vs. Zombies - Garden Warfare

posted May 14, 2014, 5:26 AM by Unknown user   [ updated May 14, 2014, 5:26 AM by Unknown user ]

Plants vs. zombies is a classic example of how all good games are just switching to first person shooters to make some quick cash. I think this is a really stupid concept because plants vs. zombies was a fun strategy game and had a good formula working for it. As if there aren't enough first person shooter games already. I think that people should focus on quality games instead of cheap re textures of already made fps games. With all that aside this isn't a terrible game and can be fun to play with friends but with the short rounds and only 4 classes with no customization for each team I am not a huge fan of this TF2 knock off.

Trials Fusion

posted May 7, 2014, 5:37 AM by Unknown user   [ updated May 7, 2014, 5:37 AM by Unknown user ]

The game trials fusion is a futuristic bike racer game completed with a few of my favorite things (Racing, a good track editor and explosions). I have this game on the Xbox 1 and it is an amazing game to sit down and play with a group of friend. If you don't have any friends to play with then the single player mode is perfect for you. After spending a few hours grinding through the campaign you can finally use the bikes you unlocked to get to the best part of the game, THE TRACK EDITOR! This is clearly the best part of the game because it has seemingly endless possibilities. I've only played a few but other than races i have seen a [WIP] zombie shooter, a basketball mini game, a giant stunt jump and even more. I think that the game could be better if it had a multiplayer track editor but all in all I think its a great game.

Recently I started playing a new game called titanfall and it is amazing. Usually I'm not a big fan of first person shooter games but this has completely changed my perspective. This game completely revolutionizes first person shooters, it gives you the ability to parkour around the maps and also have a lock on pistol which is an idea that I've never seen in any other game. Titanfall also adds a new main feature, MECHS, giant robots that can destroy entire teams. With all these new features titanfall is a revolutionary game that can pave the way for many new first person shooters.

Open World Games

Open world games are my favorite type of game to play, they give you the ability to explore, find hidden secrets and just avoid the story all together if you want to. Some famous examples of open world games are Assassins Creed, Skyrim, GTA (grand theft auto), Far Cry, Red Dead Redemption and Saints Row. One of the great things about open world games are that even if you beat the game there is still more to do. After finishing a story on a story game there is no longer any point in playing it. My favorite open world game is Far Cry 3 because of all the side quests and it's still fun playing it the 2nd or 3rd time. Those are a few reasons why open world games are my favorite type of game.

Saints Row 4

posted Feb 13, 2014, 3:07 AM by Unknown user   [ updated Feb 13, 2014, 3:09 AM by Unknown user ]

Saints Row 4 is basicly drunk GTA, the gameplay and story is not as good in Saints Row but the random levels are off the charts. Insanity is at every turn with this game whether it is teddy bears driving cars, giant soda can bosses or superpowers Saints row is always surprising you. Saints row is an M rated game and has good reason to be but it is fun to play for just the hilarity alone. You can also play with and against friends in strange minigames. This game is not the best, not even the best open world game but it is so funny and for that alone I will give it a 5/10.
