My name is Kris Federle and this year marks my 30th year as a teacher. I have taught 2nd through 8th grade but my absolute favorite grades are 4th and 5th! I began working at Ames Elementary 15 years ago. In spite of all these years of experience, I still feel as though I am learning new things about children and teaching. Last May, I completed coursework through the University of Maine and earned a Master's Degree in Literacy.

Outside of school, I have a busy life! I have three sons and, although they do not live at home anymore, I try to see them often. I love the outdoors! I spend summers camping, hiking, and kayaking. In the winter, I love to ski. I am an avid bird watcher and recently completed a course to become a certified Maine Master Naturalist. And, as my students know, I am crazy about reading!

I feel honored to be working with your children and I look forward to meeting all of you this year.
