Greetings from the School Nurse’s Office!

My name is Judy Doran. I graduated from Boston University School of Nursing and have enjoyed working in many clinical settings primarily in Maternal/Child Health, Pediatrics and the Emergency Department prior to coming to MMS in 2007.

My primary role as Nurse, is to support the efforts of the students and the educational team here at MMS by minimizing absences due to illness, modifying or removing health related barriers to learning and monitoring the environment of the school in terms of communicable diseases. Middle Schoolers are busy kids with some enormous developmental hurdles.  My office is occasionally used as a changing room for “wardrobe malfunctions”, or a place to decompress on a stressful day; it is very important to me that my office is seen as a safe place to go. I work very closely with the Guidance Department and the administration in helping keep kids safe and healthy while navigating their Middle School years.

Communication about your student’s health is vital to supporting him or her here in school. Please contact me with any health concerns or updates, or if your student has any special health needs. Feel free to stop in anytime or I can be reached by phone at 439-1399 or email at judith.doran@rsu35.org
