Ensembles

Welcome to our Ensembles home page. Marshwood offers a variety of performing ensembles for students. The Concert Band is the main ensemble that meets during the school day. This is the core of our program. We also offer Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, and Pit Orchestra for the musicals. Please see below for meeting schedules.

Concert Band - During the school day 4 days a week

Marching Band - Mostly during the fall semester with a majority of rehearsals and performances during first quarter. The season sometimes gets extended for playoff football games and we typically do three holiday parades at the end of November and beginning of December as well as two Memorial Day Parades in May.

Wind Ensemble - Meets one day a week after school starting after the end of the Marching Band season. Typically Tuesdays 2:30-4:00

Jazz Band - Meets one day a week after school starting after the end of the Marching Band season. Typically Thursdays 2:30-4:00

Pit Orchestra - This ensemble plays for the fall and spring musicals. Students are selected for this ensemble based on ability and schedule availability. The group also uses outside professional musicians when necessary and at the director's discretion.
