RRHS Library Procedures 2023-24 School Year

Library Hours:

Monday- Friday 7:00 AM- 2:00 PM

• The library may close early due to staff meetings

• The library closes for testing, registration, meetings, and other events, so listen to announcements and check postings on the library door

Checkout of Physical Books: 

• Students can check out up to four books at a time and they are due three weeks from the checkout date

• The due date will be stamped in the front of each book upon checkout

• See the librarian to renew books if you need them longer

• Fines of $0.05 per day accrue for overdue books 

• Replacement fees for Lost or Damaged books will be charged

Checkout of E-books and Audiobooks:

• www.soraapp.com  For access to e-books and audiobooks or download the SORA app

• Search for Rio Rancho Public Schools

• Login with your school Google login information

• See the librarian if you need help navigating the SORA app

Library Behavior and Expectations:

• Students are welcome before school, during their lunch time, and after school

• Students are welcome during class time with an appropriate pass from their current teacher

• Students must sign in any time they come to the library

• The library is an academic environment. Collaboration and conversation are necessary parts of academic success, as is having respect for others. Students who need to be loud or who engage in behaviors not appropriate for the library may be asked to find a more appropriate location for those behaviors. 

Resources Available:

• Printing--Limited to four pages, black and white or color, 25 cents per page

• Poster boards, $1.00 each

• Hole punch, scissors, stapler, colored pencils, markers, and other supplies are available to students
