Rapides Parish School Board is pleased to announce that we are partnering with the Food Bank of Central Louisiana as we continue to help provide food for families during these unprecedented times. This Friday, April 3rd when meals are picked up at our 7 locations across the parish, each family will have the opportunity to take home a bag/box of food from the Food Bank to help them over the Easter Break. We are able to provide one bag/box of food per family and will only be able to give a bag/box to an adult representing his/her individual family. April 6-10 is Easter Break for RPSB so we will not be providing daily meals the week of April 6-10. We do plan to continue our feeding schedule starting April 13th if schools remain closed.  The 7 feeding sites across the parish are: Bolton High School, Buckeye High School, Glenmora High School, Nachman Elementary School, Peabody Magnet High School, Pineville Elementary School, and Tioga High School. Please keep in mind that our employees and volunteers will be wearing personal protective equipment and may alter the process for picking up meals in order to maintain social distancing. We will continue to serve meals for children 18 or younger from any of the identified locations. While other districts are having to discontinue their feeding programs due to the lack of protective equipment or adequate staff, we understand that we are serving over 5,000 meals a day and want to continue to meet the needs of our community. We are #bettertogether.
