Speech-Language Pathologist

This is my fourth year in RRISD and my 28th year in Speech and Language Therapy.  Although most of my experience has been within the public school setting, I also have a background in medical-based speech/language therapy where I worked closely with neurologists, occupational therapists, psychologists, and physical therapists. I have clinical interests in Autism Spectrum Disorders, Deafness and Hard of Hearing, Augmentative and Alternative Communication, and language disorders. I do enjoy co-teaching and collaborating with educators and therapists and prefer to go into classrooms to provide services. I realize that some students may need to be seen in the speech and language therapy room instead of their classroom and will do what is best for each student.

I am originally from Houston, Texas and grew up in the Houston area as well as Guam and California. I went to graduate school in Detroit, MI and lived there for 8 years. I returned to Texas in 2007 to be closer to my family.  Besides speech-language therapy, my passion is martial arts, specifically Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan – a traditional Korean martial art.  Additionally, I enjoy yoga, football, reading, writing, gluten-free cooking, dog parks, hiking, and gardening.
