McNeil High School Academy Promo Video!

There's a lot of excitement ahead for your future graduating Maverick Class. Your high school experience begins with new teachers to meet, new books to read, new friends to make, and new skills to master. You can write your own ticket to success at McNeil High School and beyond.

The first step is to make smart decisions about your education and career options. Since you began elementary school you’ve had people asking you, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Some students know exactly what they want to do, but others may still need help in identifying areas of interest.

The academies are specialized programs that have a specific academic, theme-based focus. Ideally, they allow you to use your talents, follow your interests, and pursue your ambitions to personalize your high school experience and put you steps closer to your career goals. Students have flexibility to explore career pathways in a variety of different career fields and through selection of courses during their high school years.

There are five Academies at MHS:

Academy of Business and Industry

Academy of Health Science

Academy of Public Services

Academy of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math
