About Mrs. Schwarz

I have taught for 39 years; the last 22 years have been at Westwood High School.  I have a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Texas (Austin) in Science Education.  I am certified in Life Science/Earth Science, Biology, History, and Elementary Education.  I was married to my husband Jeff; who was also a teacher, for 31 years.  He and I took students to Cozumel, Belize and Hawaii for 35 years. Together he and I introduced many young people to the beauty of nature through hiking and backpacking and the beauty of the ocean through snorkeling and scuba diving. I have recently become a widow since September 2013.  I have 3 children and two dogs named Roxie and Riley.  I continue to love the outdoors and many outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing, and scuba diving.  My hobbies right now are my children, travel, and exercising. https://sites.google.com/a/roundrockisd.org/mrs-schwarz-s-pre-ap-biology/home/IMG_0104.JPG
My mission is to teach my students how to enjoy learning independently. In addition, I want my students to be aware of their environment and understand how everything connects in this world.
My greatest hope is that my students will understand how they affect the world and how they can make a difference.
My Children:  Melissa, Meagan, and Matthew
