Organizing Shared Files in Google Drive

When someone shares a file with you, it is available in the "Shared with Me" section of Google Drive or the "Incoming" folder in the new Google Drive.
In the same way, when someone shares an entire folder, it can be found in the "Shared with Me" or "Incoming" folder of Google Drive.

You can add the shared folder to your Drive for quicker access. See the sample below.

For example, in my "Shared with Me" folder, there is a folder called "Bluebonnet Staff College Pics."
I will click on the check box next to that folder, then the option to "Add to My Drive" appears at the top.

Once you select the "Add to My Drive" option, the folder will now appear in "My Drive," and you will no longer have to search for that folder in the "Shared with Me."

CAUTION: Just because the folder is in "My Drive," be careful not to delete items that are inside of the folder. If you do so, everyone else who has access to that folder will lose the information you have deleted. Remember it is still a shared folder.
